God‘s eternal will for you is enduring success, and He is so clear on it in His Word. However, even though permanent success is God’s will for you, it is not automatic. You have to do something with his will before you can enjoy everything He has planned for you.
Galatians 5:25-26
“Since this is the kind of life we have chosen, the life of the Spirit, let us make sure that we do not just hold it as an idea in our heads or a sentiment in our hearts, but work out its implications in every detail of our lives”. (The Message Bible)
We cannot have good and enduring success without working the Word in every detail of our lives. Being relevant in the earth for God takes more than a wish. You must develop spiritually, and become in your soul whatever you already are in your spirit. This is an intense process of yielding, transforming and becoming who you are in Christ (growing and maturing into him in all things). The Bible must become more than an accessory on Sunday mornings. Dear reader, the Word must become flesh in you. You must become the Word, known and read by all. This is the only way you can have healthy and enduring success. The Word forms and crystallises in you when you act on it.
Philippians 4:8-9
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you”.
Paul said, “The things which you learned and received and heard and seen in me, do”. If you have no intention of doing the Word, you will be playing church all of your life. This amounts to self-deception – knowing something and not doing it. Doing the Word is the result of intense learning, receiving, hearing and seeing it. The truth is, transformation is intense. You cannot have progressive and lasting change without transformation, and you cannot have transformation without the doing the Word.
The Greek word translated ‘do’ in the above scripture is ‘prassō’ which means to practise. Practise the Word. Submit to the Lordship of the Word in your life. The Word is your very life.It is not just a set of rules and regulations. As Jesus said, the Word is life and spirit (John 6:63)
Joshua 1:8
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Joshua was commanded by God not to let the Word depart out of his mouth just so he (Joshua) could do the details of the Word. And God explained why Joshua had to do the Word: For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Are you seeing this? God is not responsible for your prosperity; your prosperity is entirely your responsibility. It depends on what you do with the Word of God. He shows you what to do to prosper; whether you will prosper, is your choice.
Talking the Word enables you to do it. God never does anything until He has said it; that is why we also need to keep talking the Word, in order to achieve results in every area of our lives. If you are faced with any challenge whatsoever – be it financial, marital or regarding your health, go to the Word. Find out what it says about your case, and when you do, make that Word your confession, not what your circumstances suggest. The more often you do this, the sooner your circumstances will begin to align with the Word of God.
Philippians 4:9
\”Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you”. (Emphasis mine)
When you do the WORD, the God of peace (prosperity, rest and quietness) shall be with you. This is awesome. You secure God-guaranteed prosperity by doing the Word. All kinds of unexplainable miracles happen to, and for the man who becomes a practitioner of the Word. This was the experience of the disciples when they decided to obey Jesus, contrary to their own experience.
John 21:3-8
“Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing. 4 But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. 5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No. 6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. 7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher\’s coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea. 8 And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.
The disciples had worked all night and caught nothing. Yet when they heard the Word of Jesus and acted on it they had completely different results. Notice that nothing else changed at the time they decided to obey Jesus’ command – same boat, same net, same water. In fact verse 8 indicates that they were in shallow waters, not very far from the shore, an unlikely place for a great catch. Yet, by acting on Jesus’ command, they got a multitude of fishes. How amazing! Your circumstances notwithstanding, doing the Word changes everything!
Commit to being a doer of God’s Word, and be guaranteed of not just success, but enduring success.
