In my studies to crack the faith code, I made a discovery of a revelation and perspective of faith that I would want to share with you to help your walk of faith; particularly as faith is your purchasing power in the kingdom of God. Your faith is what determines what you will accomplish for God in life. God is not involved until your faith is engaged. When you release your faith you commit God to do the impossible in you and through you.
Colossians 2:12- Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
In the above scripture there is a revelation of faith that the cursory reader of the Word may miss. And it is the phrase ‘… through the faith of the operation of God.’ Think about it: the faith of the operation of God. The word translated ‘operation’ comes from the Greek word ‘energace’ which means energy. Substituting ‘operation’ with ‘energy’ this is how Colossians 2:12 reads: ‘Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the energy of God, who hath raised him from the dead.’ (Emphasis mine)
Faith comes from the energy of God. Faith is the energy of God. If we all understand faith as energy of/from God, there will be less casualties in the kingdom. Many try to accomplish feats for God when the energy (faith) is absent and they fall flat on their face and blame God. You cannot fake faith. When the energy is not there you cannot pretend it is.
Faith is the energy of God which causes you to speak, act and have God results.
Take a look at Act 14:7-10
7 And there they preached the gospel.
8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother\’s womb, who never had walked:
9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
Paul preached the gospel and the man impotent in his feet heard him speak. And Paul perceived that the cripple had faith to be healed. Now that is interesting. The man was yet to speak or act and yet Paul is already picking up in his spirit the presence of faith energy in the cripple. And because the energy was there he said with a loud voice to the man, who was impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother\’s womb, “Stand upright on thy feet.” Even though he could not do that naturally, yet because he had received the energy of God (faith) through the gospel Paul preached he did something with the energy. He leaped and walked!
You may be asking the question, “How do I get or increase this energy (faith)?” Let’s go back to the Acts 14:7-10 to see how the man at Lystra got the energy (faith) to be healed.
- He was exposed to the gospel. He heard Paul preach the gospel (vs 7, 9). God’s energy is dispensed through hearing from Him. When God speaks to you there is an impartation of energy (faith).
- When the energy (faith) is quickened, act (including speaking) immediately. Paul demanded that the man do something with the energy (faith) he had to be healed (vs 9, 10).The energy you receive from God through His Word won’t benefit you or others unless you act on it.
- Abide in the Word and let the Word dwell in you richly.
You can use the above principles to increase God’s energy (faith) for prosperity or global impact. With this revelation of faith all you have to do is speak and act out of a living contact with God. Don’t act on presumptions; remain in the Word until you receive the energy for the specific thing you want to accomplish.
Rule and subdue the earth for God!
