Redefining and reinforcing Kingdom focus for the entire body of Christ is important in order for us to effectively impact the earth with the Kingdom of God we represent.
Refocusing the Church
The Gentiles seek after things. Jesus was refocusing his audience when He said \”but ye seek first the Kingdom of God\”. We cannot afford to make the things the Gentiles seek, the goal of Church services. Church service should become platforms for training believers to function effectively in the Kingdom. The things the Gentiles seek are added naturally to us as we impact the earth with the kingdom of God. The Church must fine tune its focus to impact the earth with the kingdom of God.
Seek ye first the Kingdom
Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
This is broader than what one does first thing in the morning. Seek first the Kingdom is a whole new approach to living on the earth. It is representing the King and executing His will on the earth. It is apprehending the realm of God\’s dominion and subduing the earth, culture and mindsets with it. It is living in the very realm of God and blessing the earth with what you see the King do and hear Him say. It is to be consumed with the Kingdom of God.
You cannot become significant by chasing what to eat, drink and wear
Matthew 6:31-32
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
If all you do is eat, drink and wear, then at best you are a consumer. This is a low and gentile life. Major players don\’t worry about what to eat drink and wear; they think contribution and not consumption.
Guarantee for a life of impact and influence
Matthew 6:32, 33
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have
need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all
these things shall be added unto you.
The Gentiles seek the things; however the things seek you as you seek to impact the earth with the Kingdom. Ultimately the \’Gentiles\’ will end up in your house to be touched by the Kingdom you represent. They will soon find out that you are the owner of the very things they are seeking!
God has made you His representative on the earth; get busy with that and you won\’t have to seek anything else.
