Make the Shift

God’s earnest desire for you is that you walk in the lordship of Christ. This implies a life of dominion, which translates into influential service (a service that influences the served). I would like to share with you two essential factors that will plunge you into the life of dominion that God has predestined for you. There is an order you must embrace if you want to amount to much in the kingdom of God and leave a remarkable imprint on the earth. I am talking about a certain orientation and focus that drives you into endless possibilities. This will be unachievable without making the necessary shift from the flesh to the spirit, because every limitation is in the flesh.

Colossians 2:5 KJV
For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

Steadfast Faith
Your faith in Christ must be steadfast, for it is a switch from the realm of the flesh into the spirit. The steadfastness of faith connotes the quality of your faith; the persistent, consistent and untiring nature of faith. This means once your faith locks in to its desire, you hold on to it until its manifestation. Faith is not an emergency button you press when in need. Actually, the best time to walk in faith is when you have no need, such that, whenever any turbulent situation or need arises, it comes to meet you preparedly walking in faith. Since they that are in the flesh cannot please God (Romans 8:8), and without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6), your guarantee for a constant walk in the spirit is a life of faith.

Romans 8:5 KJV
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Mind the Spirit
Flesh in the scriptures above is not just referring to your body but your thinking. To be spiritual or carnal portrays a state of mind that is disposed to either spiritual or physical perceptions. Thus, the flesh is a definitive way of thinking that is not consistent with the Word of God. Jesus said in John 6:63, “It is the spirit that quickens; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” There is a limitation on the flesh. The highest of the flesh is lower than the least of the spirit. Your mind-set determines whether your orientation is towards the flesh or the spirit. A mind that is set on the things of the spirit is open to limitless possibilities as opposed to a mind that is set on the things of the flesh. Where your mind is determines whether you are operating in the spirit or in the flesh. Shift your mind from the flesh to the spirit. And this can only happen if you consistently set your mind on the Word of God and the things of the Spirit.
