The Rescue Mission

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that no matter how dire your situation may be, there is always hope. No wonder the bible says, “There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” I want you to have a certain confidence in God that will help you to overcome difficult challenges. Everything about God is great and awesome but I would like to highlight a particular quality of God; He is not limited or restricted. I want you to see how He is able to partner with us even when it seems we are in a helpless situation and how He uses us to help others overcome the same or similar challenges.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 KJV
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

The God of all comfort
Comfort is not just about words of consolation that express sympathy or empathy. It is an ability, grace and empowerment that will help you overcome inexplicable circumstances. The scripture above shows us that you should be reaching out for the God of all comfort in turbulent times. When you think about it, it seems contradictory that He would be involved in your troubles when you consider His holiness; but the Apostle Paul tells us how God is able to step into your situation to dispense comfort just as He did from his experience. In the mind of God, any trouble or challenge you go through should birth a product or service that can serve comfort to those who find themselves in similar challenges.

2 Corinthians 1:9-11 MSG
Instead of trusting in our own strength or wits to get out of it, we were forced to trust God totally—not a bad idea since he’s the God who raises the dead! And he did it, rescued us from certain doom. And he’ll do it again, rescuing us as many times as we need rescuing. You and your prayers are part of the rescue operation—I don’t want you in the dark about that either.

Rescue Operation
It seems that as God travelled through the generations, certain qualities were deleted from Him, so by the time He got to us, He could only do the possible. Therefore, if you encountered any impossible situation, your only resort could be how to manage it. However, that would be contrary to the God presented to us in the above scripture. He is the God who raises the dead! As far as God is concerned, even death is not the conclusion. With God, the only outcome of any situation is His rescue operation. When you have come to your wits’ end and human efforts have proven futile, the limitless God is your only way out. This is God’s cover and policy for you to launch out boldly in order to conquer your space for God. And in case you get into trouble, He is on standby to rescue you.

From the above scripture, they were forced to trust God totally; and that is the place you have to come to – absolute trust and dependence on Him. Paul, in the scripture above, highlights prayer as part of the rescue operation. Faith in God’s ability to come to your rescue should bring you to your knees in prayer. Even when you are down, let your voice be up, and the God who is able to rescue from certain doom will surely come to your rescue.
